Kim’s journey on drum kit started at an early age, and continues to this day. Kim has been fortunate enough to study with some of the world’s leading exponents of drum tuition.

Kim was already playing in professional bands with adult musicians by the age of 11 in Nottinghamshire. Kim achieved Grade 8 at 17, studying under Saiban educator Paul Hose. Kim continued his studies at Bath Spa, graduating with a degree in Commercial Music, studied ‘The Moeller Method’ with Jim Chapin and Dom Famularo, received 1-2-1 tuition from award-winning educator Steve White, and most recently flew out to the U.S to work with renowned drummer and educator Mike Johnston. Kim has performed and travelled with session and function music, theatre orchestras as well as in his own originals bands.

These studies, combined with his performance and recording experience has provided Kim with the resources to help his students take their drumming to the next level, wherever they may currently be. Kim is an incredibly caring and supportive tutor, with an unquenchable work ethic, he has an affability and lack of self-awareness that allows people to be themselves, and bring out their best. With a meticulous eye for detail and planning, and a heart the size of the Cutty Sark, Kim allows his students to thrive both musically and personally.
